About Arthritis

What do you know about arthritis?. Arthritis describes many different medical conditions. This causes pain, swelling, and joint stiffness. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, the cartilage around the joints wears down, causing the bones in the joint to rub together, creating inflammation and pain. Most forms of arthritis can occur in any joint, including the spinal joints. Osteoarthritis of the spine can cause loss of flexibility, bone spurs (osteophytes), irritated nerves, spinal stenosis, and sciatica. The terms spondylosis or degenerative joint disease are often used interchangeably with osteoarthritis.
